 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.       President Muhammadu Buhari has described former President Olusegun Obasanjo as "a passionate and great patriot who deserves accolades for his immeasurable contributions to our democracy and national unity."
In a statement to mark Obasanjo's 82nd birthday anniversary, President Buhari acknowledged that "regardless of our political differences with Obasanjo, I still hold him in the highest esteem because his contributions to the development of the country overshadow those differences."
He said, "Chief Obasanjo gave a good account of himself and inspired his juniors with his wit and other leadership skills."
According to Buhari, "Nigeria's successful transition to democratic rule in October 1979 was one of Obasanjo's remarkable contributions to national development."
"As he celebrates his 82nd Birthday Anniversary, I wish Chief Obasanjo more good health, knowledge and wisdom in the service of Nigeria and humanity", President Buhari said.
