 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. TWO BAG 6-YEARS EACH FOR STEALING IN GOMBE.{PHOTO}.

     The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Gombe Zonal Office ON Monday, March 4, 2019 secured the conviction of Yusuf Usman and Sani Ahmed before Justice Abubakar Jauro of the Gombe State High Court on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
They were arraigned on February 27, 2019 and pleaded "guilty" to the charges.
The trial judge, thereafter, fixed March 4, 2019 for conviction and sentencing.
Count two of the charge reads: "That you, Yusuf Usman and Sani Ahmed at Gombe, in the Gombe Judicial Division of the High Court of Gombe State, with intent did dishonestly commit theft to with fraudulently convert the sum of $44,700 (Forty Four Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars) from one Abdullahi Nabunkari by falsely claiming the said sum was meant for the facilitation of a construction contract award by the Gombe State Government to your own use and thereby committed an offence contrary to and Punishable under Section 286 and 287 of the Penal Code Law, Laws of Northern Nigeria."
Justice Jauro convicted them and sentenced them to three years in prison on each count to run consecutively.
The court further ordered on application of prosecution counsel I. O. Akande that restitution be made to the nominal complainant within six months of the judgement to be effected by the EFCC for the whole amount.
