 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. TWO BAG 6-YEARS EACH FOR STEALING IN GOMBE.{PHOTO}.

     The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Gombe Zonal Office ON Monday, March 4, 2019 secured the conviction of Yusuf Usman and Sani Ahmed before Justice Abubakar Jauro of the Gombe State High Court on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
They were arraigned on February 27, 2019 and pleaded "guilty" to the charges.
The trial judge, thereafter, fixed March 4, 2019 for conviction and sentencing.
Count two of the charge reads: "That you, Yusuf Usman and Sani Ahmed at Gombe, in the Gombe Judicial Division of the High Court of Gombe State, with intent did dishonestly commit theft to with fraudulently convert the sum of $44,700 (Forty Four Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars) from one Abdullahi Nabunkari by falsely claiming the said sum was meant for the facilitation of a construction contract award by the Gombe State Government to your own use and thereby committed an offence contrary to and Punishable under Section 286 and 287 of the Penal Code Law, Laws of Northern Nigeria."
Justice Jauro convicted them and sentenced them to three years in prison on each count to run consecutively.
The court further ordered on application of prosecution counsel I. O. Akande that restitution be made to the nominal complainant within six months of the judgement to be effected by the EFCC for the whole amount.
