 FRESH BLOODSHED IN TARABA AS TIV-JUKUN CRISIS DISPLACES THOUSANDS 16th December, 2025 Fresh violence has erupted in the protracted Tiv–Jukun crisis in Taraba State, plunging several communities into fear and devastation. Killings, arson, and mass displacement have been reported as long-standing tension rooted in land ownership, political representation, and traditional authority, boil over once more. Clashes have spread across Wukari, Ibi, Takum, Ussa, Donga, Gassol, and Bali local government areas, with new incidents recorded between 2024 and 2025. Thousands of Tiv families have reportedly fled their homes, abandoning farms and livelihoods, while women, children, and the elderly face deepening humanitarian hardship. As the violence escalates, stakeholders are urging the Federal Government, the Taraba and Benue state governments, traditional rulers, and socio-cultural leaders to act decisively tighten security, ensure justice, and pursue sincere dialogue. FINAL YEAR STUDENT SHOT DEAD YESTERDAY IMMEDIATELY AFTER HIS FINAL YEAR EXAMINATION IN CROSS RIVERS.{GRAPHIC PHOTOS}.

     A Final year student of the Cross Rivers University of Technology CRUTECH, was shot dead yesterday morning at about 11.30am shortly after he finished his final year first semester examination.
He was said to have been stepping out of the examination hall when he was accosted by some fierce looking men who shot him at close range. The men fled the scene immediately.
Students of the institution believe it is a cult-related murder.

The remains of the deceased has been taken to the state mortuary. According to another source ''It was a shocking moment when a final year student of the Cross Rivers University of Technology (CRUTECH) was shot dead Monday morning at about 11.30am shortly after he finished his final year first semester examination.
The Final year Engineering student has been identified as James Chia. He was shot to death by suspected cultists belonging to a rival group on Monday afternoon.
James was reportedly a popular student known as ‘Jay’ Real on Facebook. He hailed from Abi Local Government, but grew up in Ogoja, Cross River.He was a 500-level student of Engineering in the Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH, Calabar Campus.More photos below.
