 LASG HOSTS Y2024 WOMEN'S ASSEMBLY TO EMPOWER, CELEBRATE WOMEN Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to advancing and empowering women, describing them as the pillars of communities, contributing in numerous ways as mothers, entrepreneurs, educators and leaders.  Governor Sanwo-Olu stated this in his keynote address at the 2024 Women's Assembly for Local Government and Local Council Development Areas organised by the Ministry of Women's Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) at the De Blue Roof, LTV 8 complex, Agindigbi Ikeja.  The Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Governor, Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, described the Assembly as a critical platform for celebrating women’s contributions and tackling challenges affecting their well-being.       The Nigerian Military School (NMS), in Zaria, Kaduna State, has held its 2019 session 'Speech and Prize Giving Day' for its 2018/2019 set of graduating students.
Eminent guests who graced the event at the school premises include former Head of State, General Abdulsalam Abubakar, who was the 'Special Guest of Honour', Mr Babatunde Fowler, the Executive Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), who was the Chairman of the occasion.
While unveiling the Junior Leader Magazine, - the magazine of the school, Mr Fowler requested for 500 copies for an undisclosed amount and also promised to project the magazine to several corporate organizations urging them to support and carry out projects for upgrade of educational initiatives and programmes of the Nigerian Army.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai, the Chief Host, was represented by the Chief of Standards and Evaluation 'Army' , Maj Gen A O Shodunke.
Other Senior Officers and Dignitaries in attendance were Prof Faruk Haruna Rasheed, Provost Federal College of Education Kontagora, the Comdt Depot Nigerian Army Maj Gen S Mohammed, Acting Corps Commander Education, Brig Gen H B Mohammed, and the Representative of the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Umaru Mohammed, amongst others.More photos below.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.   SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
