Terrifying new dashcam footage shows moment doomed NBC helicopter falls out of the sky The terrifying moment an NBC helicopter fell out of the sky and plunged into the ground near where an SUV had slammed into a Metro bus was caught on dashcam. The video, obtained by KTLA, shows the helicopter descending, caught from afar on the vehicle camera of Yera Valencia. She said: “I downloaded the video of my dashcam. It’s a little dot on the video. It’s a crisp video and it just goes down.” She added: “God, it’s so close, it could have happened to anyone. My parents walk down the street.” The two back-to-back Tuesday night crashes resulted in five deaths — two involving the bus and SUV, and three as a result of the chopper going down, killing reporter Eliana Moreno, pilot George Marciniw and pedestrian Edy Gutierrez Mejia.

       The General Manager, Lagos State Public Works Corporation, Engr. Olufemi Daramola has disclosed that the agency has performed palliative and rehabilitation works on sections of 150 strategic roads across the State.
Daramola said that staffers of the Corporation have been re-energised to carry out their statutory duties of road maintenance, following the support of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat through the provision of machinery and tools for the rehabilitation of bad roads.
"In line with the Executive Order of His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu which declared "Zero Tolerance on Potholes" within the metropolis, the Public Works Corporation has executed rehabilitation/palliative road works totalling 82,787.61 sqm at strategic sections on 150 roads in the State”, he stated.
Daramola averred that the maintenance carried out by the Agency had resulted in the relative ease of human and vehicular movement across the State, thereby boosting socio-economic activities.
According to the General Manager, “the intervention by the Lagos State Public Works is an actualisation of this administration’s vision to ensure a free flow of vehicular movement with the removal of hindrances such as potholes and other gridlock elements across the State”.
He stated that the various palliative road works were done using materials such as Asphalt, Concrete, Granite Boulders, Crushed Granite Stones and in some cases, Paving Stones to repair damaged road pavements and consequently provide comfort to motorists across the State in the last 100 days.
Engr. Daramola acknowledged that more roads still require attention but reiterated that rehabilitation and maintenance of roads across the State is a continuous exercise with already planned intervention in different areas of the State.
Some of the major strategic roads where rehabilitation works have been carried out include Iju Road, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ogudu Road, Kosofe, Town Planning Way, Ilupeju, Mushin, Ikorodu Road and Independence Tunnel, Maryland.
Repair works have also been carried out along Mile 12 inward Ketu axis, Kosofe, Oke-Afa-Ejigbo Road, Oshodi-Isolo, Apongbon Roundabout, Marina in Lagos Island, Oba Akran Avenue, Aromire and Akilo Road in Ikeja, among other strategic roads.
Other areas where urgent palliative road works were also done include Lekki-Epe Expressway, Itoikin Epe, Ikotun-Ejigbo Road in Alimosho, Ikotun-Ijegun Road and Ikotun-Egbe Road in Alimosho as well as Iddo inwards Idumota.
