 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly.      The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested one Idorenyin Essien,35, who burnt his son to death over alleged theft.
Recall that Mr Essien doused his son Abadiofon with kerosene and set him ablaze at Afia Nsit community in the Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom.
The spokesman of the command, DSP. Mac-Don Achibe, who confirmed the development while speaking with newsmen in Eket on Tuesday, said that the incident, which occurred on Aug. 29, was reported to the police by Essien’s neighbours.
Achibe said the case would be charged to court after the police investigation.
Essien burnt his son to death with claims that he stole N500 from their landord’s house to buy food. According to reports, Essien sent the minor to buy kerosene, which the son did. He tied the boy with a rope, doused him with the kerosene and set him ablaze. The boy was rushed to hospital but later died.One more photo below.
