 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   ENGINEERS FAROUK AHMED, GBENGA KOMOLAFE RESIGN, PRESIDENT TINUBU NOMINATES SUCCESSORS TO THE SENATE FOR APPROVAL President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked the Senate to approve the nominations of two new chief executives for the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).   The requests followed the resignation of Engineer Farouk Ahmed of the NMDPRA and Gbenga Komolafe of the NUPRC. Both officials were appointed in 2021 by former President Buhari to lead the two regulatory agencies created by the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).   To fill these positions, President Tinubu has written to the Senate, requesting expedited confirmation of Oritsemeyiwa Amanorisewo Eyesan as CEO of NUPRC and Engineer Saidu Aliyu Mohammed as CEO of NMDPRA.   The two nominees are seasoned professionals in the oil and gas industry.   Eyesan, a graduate of Economics f...

LAGOS TO HOST 2019 NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF ROAD TRAFFIC OFFICERS.#PRESS RELEASE.

     Lagos State will play host to the Year 2019 edition of the National Conference of Directors/Chief Road Traffic Officers from the 30th of October to the 2nd of November 2019.
According to a release by the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, the event scheduled to hold at The Event Centre, Hakeem Balogun Street, opposite African Shrine, Agidingbi, Lagos will witness the attendance of stakeholders in the Transport Sector including Retired Chiefs and Major players in Road Traffic Safety and Motor Vehicle Administration Services nationwide.
It noted that the conference themed: “Employing Technology To Enhance Compliance And Safety On Our Roads”, is geared towards proffering solutions and strategies which will improve road traffic safety as a whole in the federation.
The release said it will also provide all stakeholders in the industry a platform to create long-lasting solutions to the challenges plaguing the transport sector in Nigeria, through hand-on-tool experiences of several technological innovations, as implemented by the Lagos State Vehicle Inspection Service and their counterparts in other States.
“The event holds the promise of an imminent turn around in road and vehicle safety in Nigeria as regards administrative strategies and its execution”, the statement added.
