 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. LASG PAYS N1.181BILLION INTO THE RSA PG 279 RETIREES.#PRESS RELEASE.

    The Lagos State Government has disbursed the sum of N1.181billion accrued pension rights into the Retirement Savings Accounts of another batch of 279 retirees of its Civil Service.
The Director-General, Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) Mrs. Folashade Onanuga made the disclosure at the 68th Retirement Benefit Bond Certificate presentation ceremony held on Tuesday in Alausa, Ikeja.
She affirmed that the present administration is committed to the regular payment of retirees’ benefits to ensure that beneficiaries do not undergo financial pressure after meritorious service to the State.
Onanuga assured the retirees of the government’s interest in their wellbeing in old age, noting that the issue of backlog payments was being addressed as additional funds would soon be released in tranches for further payments.
