 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting. OGUN GOVT COMMISERATES WITH FAMILIES OF PERSONS WHO LOST THEIR LIVES IN OSOSA RIVER.#PRESS RELEASE.

    The Ogun State Government commiserates with families of persons who lost their lives in the road mishap that occurred just days ago when a passenger bus plunged into the Ososa River along the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ososa Road.
Following the unfortunate incident, officials of the Ogun State Public Works Agency (OGPWA) and MOWI conducted inspections on the bridge to determine how to avoid a recurrence.
According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), it was gathered that the bus driver had tried to overtake another vehicle on the bridge when a tyre burst. Drivers are therefore urged to maintain low speeds, overtake only in safe areas and ensure that their vehicles are in the best condition before embarking on a journey.
The Ogun State Government assures the people of an immediate commencement of work to fix the bridge and to alert unsuspecting motorists of hazards on the road which is currently undergoing repairs.
