Cruse offer free, confidential bereavement support, advice and information through a network of nearly 5,000 volunteers. The charity provide face-to-face, group, telephone, email and website support for adults, young adults and children experiencing loss.
At tonight’s reception, Her Majesty met individuals who have been instrumental in providing bereavement support following devastating events, including 9/11 and the Grenfell Tower Fire - after which a team of Cruse volunteers were based at Grenfell’s Family and Friends Assistance Centre for nine months.
The Queen was also introduced to current volunteers who were supported by Cruse after a bereavement, and were subsequently inspired to dedicate their time to helping others going through a similar experience.More photos below.
