The Lagos State Safety Commission has dissociated itself from the activities of dubious individuals and groups parading themselves as staff of the Commission in an attempt to deceive and scam unsuspecting members of the public.
According to a statement issued by the Director-General of the Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola, some criminally minded persons have branded their vehicles with the colours of the Commission, forged its official letterhead, Abatement notices, and adorn outfits similar to those of its officials in a bid to swindle unsuspecting members of the public.
While decrying the activities of these set of unscrupulous members of the public, Mojola advised members of the public to disregard any purported summons, abatement notices and seal orders from unauthorised persons.
He warned that anyone found using the Commission's logo to carry out illegal schemes will be arrested and prosecuted in line with relevant laws of Lagos State, affirming the State government's commitment to protecting lives and property of its citizenry.
Mojola revealed that the Commission is presently undergoing restructuring to reposition its operations for improved service delivery to residents of the State and in line with the Commission's Law (2011).He, therefore, urged all members of the public to channel their inquiries and complaints to the Lagos State Safety Commission at Block 18B, 2nd & 3rd Floors, The Secretariat, Alausa Ikeja for a prompt response.
