  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous.        The EFCC on November 19, 2019, arraigned Theophilus Madami, a serving Councillor, before Justice Darius Khobo of State High Court Kaduna, on a two Count charge bordering on Issuance of Dud Cheque amounting to N 2, 310,000 (Two Million, Three Hundred and Ten Thousand Naira). Madami is currently on remand in prison custody following an earlier arraignment on November 14, 2019 on another matter of Criminal Breach of Trust and OBT brought against him.
