 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State.     The attention of the Lagos State Safety Commission has been drawn to the #NativeLand19 concert which was held at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, Lagos recently and the unpleasant incidents that followed the concert.
Firstly, the Commission expresses sympathy with everyone who was injured, lost properties and had their enjoyment disrupted at the NativeLand19 concert. The Commission has commenced a full investigation will reach out to all parties involved in due course.
Secondly, the Commission wishes to notify the public that organizers of the event did not notify the Commission and did not put in place adequate safety measures nor obtain Safety Compliance Certificate from the Commission.
The Commission if using this medium to reiterate zero tolerance for event organizers, show promoters and venue owners who disregard health and safety measures at the detriment of the interest of the general public.
In line with the Lagos State Safety Commission Act, all events must be brought to the attention of the Commission before the date of the event and events without Safety Compliance Certificates will be shut down.
Lagosians are implored to report all safety infractions noticed to the Lagos State Safety Commission at Block 18b 2nd & 3rd Floor Secretariat, Alausa.
