 Nigerian Pilots and Crew Released in Burkina Faso, Head to Portugal Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has announced the release and departure of the pilots and crew of the Nigerian Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft (NAF 913) that had been detained in Burkina Faso. In a statement issued on Thursday, Ambassador Tuggar confirmed that  following  engagement in Burkina Faso, the pilots and crew of NAF C-130 (913) have been formally cleared to depart and are currently en route to Portugal via Accra. The minister highlighted Nigeria’s commitment to dialogue and regional cooperation, stating that these efforts continue to yield positive outcomes. Ambassador Tuggar paid glowing tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary leadership and steady guidance which he said proved decisive in resolving the matter through constructive diplomacy and peaceful engagement.

    The attention of the Lagos State Safety Commission has been drawn to the #NativeLand19 concert which was held at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, Lagos recently and the unpleasant incidents that followed the concert.
Firstly, the Commission expresses sympathy with everyone who was injured, lost properties and had their enjoyment disrupted at the NativeLand19 concert. The Commission has commenced a full investigation will reach out to all parties involved in due course.
Secondly, the Commission wishes to notify the public that organizers of the event did not notify the Commission and did not put in place adequate safety measures nor obtain Safety Compliance Certificate from the Commission.
The Commission if using this medium to reiterate zero tolerance for event organizers, show promoters and venue owners who disregard health and safety measures at the detriment of the interest of the general public.
In line with the Lagos State Safety Commission Act, all events must be brought to the attention of the Commission before the date of the event and events without Safety Compliance Certificates will be shut down.
Lagosians are implored to report all safety infractions noticed to the Lagos State Safety Commission at Block 18b 2nd & 3rd Floor Secretariat, Alausa.
