 FRESH BLOODSHED IN TARABA AS TIV-JUKUN CRISIS DISPLACES THOUSANDS 16th December, 2025 Fresh violence has erupted in the protracted Tiv–Jukun crisis in Taraba State, plunging several communities into fear and devastation. Killings, arson, and mass displacement have been reported as long-standing tension rooted in land ownership, political representation, and traditional authority, boil over once more. Clashes have spread across Wukari, Ibi, Takum, Ussa, Donga, Gassol, and Bali local government areas, with new incidents recorded between 2024 and 2025. Thousands of Tiv families have reportedly fled their homes, abandoning farms and livelihoods, while women, children, and the elderly face deepening humanitarian hardship. As the violence escalates, stakeholders are urging the Federal Government, the Taraba and Benue state governments, traditional rulers, and socio-cultural leaders to act decisively tighten security, ensure justice, and pursue sincere dialogue. LASG SEEKS LASTING SOLUTION TO MENACE OF CONTAINER TERMINAL IN SATELLITE TOWN.#PRESS RELEASE.

      The Lagos State Government has assured Satellite Town residents of a lasting solution to the problems caused by the container terminal in the Ijegun/Egba community area of the State.
Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako gave the assurance when representatives of the community visited his office in Alausa.
Dr. Salako said the government is currently identifying strategies to ensure that residents of Satellite Town are relieved despite the enormous commercial and industrial activities within their environment.
He urged the people of Lagos State, particularly residents of Satellite and Ijegun-Egba to continue to repose confidence in the ability of the present administration to take meaningful and beneficial decisions that would provide succour to the people.
However, he made it clear that the Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development had not granted any approval for container terminal in the area.
The Commissioner promised to pay a fact-finding visit to Satellite Town and adjoining communities as a step towards identifying and eradicating the problems being encountered by the residents.
In his contribution, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Urban Development and Acting Commissioner, Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Arc. Kabir Abdullahi assured residents of the area that the State Government would wade into the matter and proffer a lasting solution.
The Chairman of Satellite Town Residents Association, Mr. Mabel Ehirim said that residents of the community look up to the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development to right the wrongs observed in their environment through the proper application of the Planning Laws of Lagos State.
