 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.     The Oyo State Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transportation, Professor Raphael Afonja was at Akesan market, Oyo town for on-the-spot assessment of a fire outbreak at the market earlier today.
The Honourable Commissioner who was accompanied by the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Kehinde Ayoola also paid a visit to victims of the fire outbreak at an undisclosed hospital where they are receiving proper medical care.
He expressed the goodwill of Gov. Seyi Makinde led administration and gave the assurance that efforts are in top gear to prevent such future occurrences.More photos below.
