 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali.       The Anambra State Police Command wishes to inform the general Public that Following directives by the Inspector-general of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu NPM, mni,the Command will henceforth impound all vehicles illegally using Spy number plates,sirens, revolving lights or covered number plates.This is because, such acts if
left unchecked could worsen the security situation in the State.
Inview of the foregoing, the Commissioner of Police *CP John B.Abang,fdc* has ordered with immediate effect to impound all vehicles illegally using SPY or covered number plates and revolving lights in the State.Anyone found violating such order would also be arrested and prosecuted.A task force has been put in place by the Command to enforce the directive of the IGP.
Consequently, the CP also warns that any Security personnel found escorting their principal with an unmarked vehicle or those with covered vehicle number plates will be arrested and dealt with accordingly.You are kindly requested to give this massage wide publicity in both print,social and electronic media, please.
