 FRESH BLOODSHED IN TARABA AS TIV-JUKUN CRISIS DISPLACES THOUSANDS 16th December, 2025 Fresh violence has erupted in the protracted Tiv–Jukun crisis in Taraba State, plunging several communities into fear and devastation. Killings, arson, and mass displacement have been reported as long-standing tension rooted in land ownership, political representation, and traditional authority, boil over once more. Clashes have spread across Wukari, Ibi, Takum, Ussa, Donga, Gassol, and Bali local government areas, with new incidents recorded between 2024 and 2025. Thousands of Tiv families have reportedly fled their homes, abandoning farms and livelihoods, while women, children, and the elderly face deepening humanitarian hardship. As the violence escalates, stakeholders are urging the Federal Government, the Taraba and Benue state governments, traditional rulers, and socio-cultural leaders to act decisively tighten security, ensure justice, and pursue sincere dialogue. EFCC DOCKS MAN FOR OBTAINING $4,500 IN LOVE SCAM.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

    The Lagos Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned one Iyonsi Timeyin Timothy before Justice Sherifat Solebo of the Special Offences Court, Ikeja, Lagos, on a two-count charge bordering on possession of fraudulent documents and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of $4,500.
One of the counts reads: "That you, Iyonsi Timeyin Timothy , sometime in September, 2019, in Lagos, within the Ikeja Judicial Division, with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of $4,500.00 (Four Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars) from one Julia Zagorski under the false pretense to wit: “romance scam”, which pretence you knew to be false and committed an offence contrary to Sections 1 (1) (a)and 1 (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Fraud Related Offences Act No: 14 of 2006.”
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges following which prosecution counsel, K. Uduak, asked the court for a trial date, and for the defendant be remanded in Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS), facility.
