 Meta to end end-to-end encryption for Instagram direct messages Meta is ending end-to-end encryption for Instagram direct messages, a feature the company says will no longer be available after May 8, 2026. Unlike WhatsApp, Instagram never offered encryption to all users or as a default; only select users in certain regions could opt in on a per-chat basis. A Meta spokesperson explained that the decision comes due to low adoption. “Very few people were opting in to end-to-end encrypted messaging in DMs, so we’re removing this option from Instagram in the coming months,” the spokesperson said. “Anyone who wants to keep messaging with end-to-end encryption can easily do that on WhatsApp.” Meta’s messaging strategy has shifted multiple times over the years. WhatsApp chats have been encrypted since 2016, and the company began rolling out default encryption for Messenger in 2023.     ANAMBRA STATE POLICE COMMAND DIARY:
     On the 21/2/2020 at about 3:27pm,following a tip off ,Police detectives attached to B' Division Awka arrested one Emmanuel Bassey 'm' aged 38years of Abi LGA of Cross Rivers State but resides at Ngozika Housing Estates,Awka.
2. Suspect allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge against the order of nature with over Six Small boys of between 10 and 14 years on different occasions.
3. Suspect has equally made a voluntary confessional statement to the police and blamed his act on demons.
4. Meanwhile,scene of crime was visited by Police detectives and Six victims ,all boys were taken to the hospital for medical examination.
5. Consequently,the Commissioner of Police *CP John B. Abang,fdc* has ordered for immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal investigation Department(CID)for discreet investigation after which suspect would be charged to Court for prosecution,please.
