 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers opened fire on a commercial vehicle, killing four travellers while two others are missing at Turunku village, in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. A commercial driver, Aliyu Usman, who narrowly escaped the attack, told our reporter in Toto that the incident happened around 7:12 am on Tuesday. He said the gunmen in their large number with sophisticated weapons suddenly emerged from the bush and opened fire on a Volkswagen Golf, right in front of his vehicle. He said the gunmen killed four passengers inside the vehicle while two others, a male and female, are Missing.
“Actually, the vehicle loaded passengers in Toto by the road side heading to Umaisha town. “I was behind him going, until when the gunmen suddenly appeared from the bush and opened fire on the vehicle. “I quickly applied my brake and made a u-turn immediately,” he said. He said one of the gunmen’s bullet hit his vehicle but he managed to escape back to Toto town. He said the bodies of the travelers were later conveyed to Umaisha for burial. When contacted, the spokesman of Nasarawa State police command, ASP Ramhan Nansel, said; “It has not been brought to my notice.”.
