 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. COVID-19: PATIENTS ENJOY FREE MEDICAL TREATMENT AT IJEDE GENERAL HOSPITAL.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      The Medical Director of Ijede General Hospital, Dr. (Mrs.) Olufunmilayo Bankole, has disclosed that over 191 patients benefitted from the free medical treatment directive of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the month of April 2020.
Dr. Bankole said that the free medical treatment was in compliance with the Governor's promise that the State will pay the medical bills incurred by patients admitted to public healthcare facilities during the lockdown.
The gesture, according to her, was a way of lessening the burden of medical expenses on patients during the lockdown in the State.
"This decision of the State Government really assisted many indigent patients, who ordinarily would not be able to afford the medical expenses of undergoing the various surgeries carried out by hospitals which ran into several millions of naira", Dr. Bankole said.
Some of the beneficiaries at the hospital, commended the State Government for assisting them at a very crucial time when the lockdown negatively affected their earning power.More photos below.
