 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion.     The Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Pharmacist (Mrs.) Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, a Nigerian comedian and actor, Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, popularly known as Ali Baba and other stakeholders in the Tourism and Entertainment industry will, on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, meet to discuss issues bordering on revamping the sector from its current state of low patronage and apathy.
In a statement issued over the weekend, Akinbile-Yusuf disclosed that the session will hold virtually in compliance with the directive of the government on physical distancing.
She listed other discussants for the virtual engagement, aside Ali Baba, to include a member of the Real Hotelier community, Victor Kayode Olanrewaju; a female entrepreneur and CEO of Sheba Centre, Omolara Adelusi and a Hotel Consultant, Dayo Adesugba.
While Ali Baba will speak on “Post-COVID-19 and the Entertainment Industry; Panacea for Economic Growth, Victor Kayode Olanrewaju’s presentation would focus on “Hospitality Businesses and Regulatory Agencies; A Win-Win Reorder”.
In the same vein, Omolara Adelusi and Dayo Adesugba will share their experiences on “Events Management Business and Fashionista; Opportunities for State and Investors” and “Domestic Tourism; A Post-COVID Tool for Quick Economic Recovery in Lagos State” respectively.
The various sessions, according to the Commissioner, promise to be engaging as the speakers would share their various experiences while also relating same to the present situation in the industry globally.
Akinbile-Yusuf expressed belief that the outcome of the webinar session would assist both the government and private sector in coping with the current changes in the Tourism and Entertainment Industry, adding that the communiqué that would emanate from the event would form part of the policy direction for the sector going forward.
