 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. WORLD ASTHMA DAY: THE DUCHESS OF GLOUCESTER SENT A MESSAGE TO ASTHMA UK AND OTHERS.{PHOTOS}.


    As COVID-19 affects the lungs and airways, it has become more important than ever for people with asthma to have access to the support they need.
On World Asthma Day and Charity Tuesday, The Duchess of Gloucester has sent a message to Asthma UK and others supporting people with asthma at this time.
“To everyone contributing to these efforts - whether it’s in person, over the telephone or virtually - I know you are under extraordinary pressure to keep people with asthma safe, and you are doing an extraordinary job. Thank you.”
HRH has been Patron of Asthma UK since 1975.
The Duchess also joined a call with Chief Executive Kay, services lead Helen and asthma nurse Caroline from Asthma UK yesterday, to hear more about their work at this busy time, which includes:
📞 A specialist asthma helpline, which saw eight times more calls than normal during March.
Advice on shielding, inhaler shortages and support for key workers with children in high-risk groups.
💻 Online health advice from in-house experts.
📕 A new, dedicated Post-COVID online hub and helpline, to specifically support people affected by breathing difficulties after contracting COVID-19.One more photo below.
