 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. WORLD ASTHMA DAY: THE DUCHESS OF GLOUCESTER SENT A MESSAGE TO ASTHMA UK AND OTHERS.{PHOTOS}.


    As COVID-19 affects the lungs and airways, it has become more important than ever for people with asthma to have access to the support they need.
On World Asthma Day and Charity Tuesday, The Duchess of Gloucester has sent a message to Asthma UK and others supporting people with asthma at this time.
“To everyone contributing to these efforts - whether it’s in person, over the telephone or virtually - I know you are under extraordinary pressure to keep people with asthma safe, and you are doing an extraordinary job. Thank you.”
HRH has been Patron of Asthma UK since 1975.
The Duchess also joined a call with Chief Executive Kay, services lead Helen and asthma nurse Caroline from Asthma UK yesterday, to hear more about their work at this busy time, which includes:
📞 A specialist asthma helpline, which saw eight times more calls than normal during March.
Advice on shielding, inhaler shortages and support for key workers with children in high-risk groups.
💻 Online health advice from in-house experts.
📕 A new, dedicated Post-COVID online hub and helpline, to specifically support people affected by breathing difficulties after contracting COVID-19.One more photo below.
