 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. COVID-19: LAGOS SPORTS COMMISSION DOLES OUT RELIEF PACKAGES TO SPORTS WRITERS.[PHOTOS].#PRESS RELEASE.

     In order to cushion the effects of the COVID-19 lockdown on members of the Lagos Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Lagos State Sports Commission on Friday distributed packages, comprising of 5kg Rice, 5kg Beans, One-litre Groundnut Oil and Hand Sanitisers to 250 of its members
Mr. Moses Kolawole, Director, Sports Development, who made the presentation on behalf of the Management of the Commission, stated that the gesture is to support the Sports Writers in Lagos, being stakeholders in games development in the State.
"What we are doing today is to support one of our very important stakeholders in our own little way during this pandemic. It is small but we are very sure that it would go a long way to assist members of the Sports Writers Association during this difficult time", he added.
Responding, Debo Osundun, Chairman (SWAN), appreciated the kind gesture of the Management of the Lagos State Sports Commission for remembering the association, adding that Government, through the Commission, has always been there for Lagos SWAN.
He further stated that members of Lagos State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria will continue to render necessary support to the State Sports Commission, through adequate publicity of its programmes, events and activities.
"We are very thankful to the Management of Lagos State Sports Commission for recognising our members during this pandemic period and we are very proud to be associated with the Lagos State Government", Osundun said.More photos below.
