 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.      The 63-year-old Ondo state governor ' Rotimi Akeredolu' announced this at a press conference in Akure, the state capital today June 30.
He said...
''I had malaria a few days ago and was treated. I did get over it and as at the time we had our party NEC and my colleagues called on me, I spoke with one of them who felt that malaria shouldn't be treated lightly but that I should go ahead and have a test for COVID-19.
The result come out today June 30 and I tested positive.
I am a symptomatic. I am not feeling sick nor feeling hot in anyway but my doctors have decided I should take the normal treatment and self isolate. I believe that supervised home management will be ideal for me for now and so from now I will be isolated and go on with the supervised home management''
Ondo state currently has 276 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
