 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

LASPOTECH VISITATION PANEL SUBMITS REPORT,TO UNRAVEL THE LINGERING CRISES IN THE POLYTECHNIC.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The Lagos State Polytechnic visitation panel set-up by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to unravel the immediate and remote causes of the lingering crises in the Polytechnic, on Thursday, submitted its report to the State Government, through the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab.
Receiving the report from the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Wahab thanked the members for the timely submission, assuring them of the government's commitment to the implementation of recommendations of the investigating team.
He said, "The Government was worried about the crisis at the Institution and this report will help us find out the underlying causes of the crises, how to resolve them and prevent any future occurrence of similar problems".
Earlier while presenting the report, the Chairman of the Panel, Barr. Adelowo Afolayan, appreciated Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on behalf of other members of the Committee, for the opportunity given to them to work freely in finding solutions to the age-long crisis in the school without interference.
Recall the Visitation Panel was constituted in October 2019 by the State Government in accordance with the extant law of the Lagos State Polytechnic 2012, Section C111 (subsection 1-5).One more photo below.
