 Anambra to go after houses without proper drainage in order to combat Erosion  Worried by the rising menace of gully erosion, the Anambra State Government has threatened to enforce regulations requiring residents to provide proper drainage for storm water from their homes. The State Executive Council (ANSEC), which announced the proposed enforcement, lamented that erosion remains an existential challenge in Anambra, blaming the situation on careless actions by some communities and lapses by regulatory bodies in enforcing environmental laws. Briefing journalists after the weekly executive council meeting, the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, said it had been observed that some residents channel storm water from their homes directly onto roads, where it accumulates and worsens the erosion crisis across the state. “ANSEC has resolved to step up enforcement to compel residents to properly channel and manage storm water from their houses. A 14-YEAR OLD GIRL COMMITTED SUICIDE AFTER HER BOYFRIEND GOT HER PREGNANT.{PHOTO}.#RIP.

     14 year old Anita Haledu Ibrahim, a resident of Angwan Dorowa, Gbuja village, Andaha, Akwanga Local Government of Nasarawa state had committed suicide.
The deceased, an SS1 student of Government Science School Andaha, is said to have drank herbicide on Saturday 11th July, 2020 which resulted to her death.
A source close to the family disclosed that the deceased got pregnant for her boyfriend, who is also a resident of Andaha, during the COVID-19 lockdown.
According to the source, the father who later found out about the pregnancy, out of anger beat her up severely.
She died in the early hours of today Tuesday, 14th July, 2020 due to effect of the herbicide she took.
Burial preparations have been made and Anita is being buried in her family residence in Angwan Dorowa, Gbuja village, Andaha.
