 A Tennessee family, and an entire community, has been left stunned and grieving after a pack of dogs took the life of a man out for a jog. When 43-year-old Marko Bursey arrived in Henning, Tennessee, to visit his parents, he had no idea that he would never be returning back to his home in Nashville. Marko could have never imagined the terrible fate that awaited him, lurking in the woods, near an abandoned school.  However, Marko's horrific death has had an indelible effect on not just his loved ones but an entire community as they search for answers on how this tragedy unfolded.     It's a first kind of Eid this year, and I congratulate all Muslims in Ogun State and Nigeria for Allah's grace to witness it.
I call on the Muslim Ummah to use the season to have a sober reflection on the principles of love, kindness and sacrifice which are the very essence of the season.
As we solemnly celebrate in our different homes, let's pray to the Almighty for a quick and permanent way out of this pandemic that has altered the congregation of faithful and glamorous celebrations that usually come with Sallah. Even as we are unable to gather, let's remember persons of other faiths in our prayers, as it is only our collective wellness that can move us forward.
Above all, let's be charitable and extend a hand of kindness to the poor and the needy in line with the Holy Teachings.
