  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.       As the world marks this year’s World Humanitarian Day, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom describes as selfless and immeasurable, the services rendered by aid workers and health-care providers in the country and other parts of the globe.

The Governor calls on governments at all levels to provide greater protection to persons involved in one form of humanitarian work or the other as this will spur them to do more.

He states that the current battle against COVID-19 has once more exposed health workers and care givers to hazardous conditions leading to the death of many, a situation he says deserves every means of encouragement the affected persons need.

He gives assurance that his administration will continue to evolve policies and actions towards alleviating the plight of people affected by emergencies such as herdsmen attacks, flood and Coronavirus.

Governor Ortom appreciates the people of Benue State for their support and collaboration in surmounting security and economic challenges in the last couple of years.
