 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly. MAIRIGA APPOINTED EXECUTIVE SECRETARY, FGSHLB
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mr. Ibrahim Abdu Mairiga as the Executive Secretary, Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board (FGSHLB) with effect from 24th July, 2020 for a term of Four (4) Years in the first instance.
The letter conveying the approval was signed by The Head of Service of the Federation (HOS), Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan. She stated that the new appointment calls for dedication, hard work and commitment for the realization of the mandate of the Board. She therefore advised Mr. Mairiga to bring his wealth of experience and knowledge to bear on the task ahead.
Mr. Ibrahim Abdu Mairiga was born on the 4th of December, 1960 in Gombe, Gombe State, Nigeria. He holds a Masters of Arts (History) from the University of Maiduguri and Bachelor of Arts (History) from Bayero University, Kano State. He has attended many professional courses both within and outside Nigeria.
Mr. Mairiga was the Director, Employment Mobility and Director Overseeing the Office of Permanent Secretary, Career Management in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) before his current appointment. He is expected to assume duties in the Board immediately.
