 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. IMPEACHMENT: NEW SPEAKER IMO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY VISIT'S GOVERNOR HOPE UZODIMMA.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

 

Governor Hope Uzodimma has said that he will continue to respect the separation of powers.
The Governor said this when he received the new speaker of the Imo state house of assembly, Rt Honourable Paul Emezie added that the doctrine of separation of powers allows all arms of government to operate individually while working hand in hand for the good of the people.
To this end the visit by the house members is not out of order.
While on a courtesy call to governor, Hope Uzodimma after the impeachment, deputy Speaker of the house, Chyna Iwuanyanwu who led his colleagues informed the governor that the former Speaker was impeached to save their party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) with a more competent member to save the party from impending crisis in the State.
According to him, the impeachment of our former Speaker was born out of necessity to protect APC being the majority party in the house but also government policies for the benefit of the people.
"We decided to replace him with somebody who has the interest of the party at heart." the deputy speaker added.
Governor Uzodimma while responding , advised the lawmakers to coexist as one and as well have the fear of God to move the State in a positive direction.
He said "You are all elected equally, but one person must preside , you all should have confidence in the new Speaker, from my heart I receive the new Speaker , I urge you all to remain as brothers and sisters, government is a continuum. ".
The former Speaker who accompanied his colleagues on the courtesy call to the governor congratulated the new Speaker and as well took pictures with him, the governor and other members of the house.
The New speaker who was almost speechless managed to thank God for his elevation.

Explained that the former Speaker was sacked from his position following numerous petitions ranging from gross misconduct, incompetence, financially rascality and sabotage.
