 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. OGSG PROPOSES STATE-OWNED EXAM INSTITUTE.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

The Ogun State Government is considering the need to establish an institute, which will conduct entrance examinations for prospective applicants into its Public/Civil Service.
The Chairman, Civil Service Commission, Engr. Tokunbo Odebunmi disclosed this during an interview with newsmen at his office in Abeokuta, saying it would afford Government the opportunity to be in charge of any examination that would bring in new candidates into the Service, rather than contracting it to an external body.
The Commission boss said they would work out modalities with the Office of the Head of Service and Bureau of Establishment and Training to achieve the goal, by encouraging Government to put necessary measures in place, towards giving the Staff Development Centre a facelift.
