Lagos police launch investigation as jeweller  accuses its officers of harassment The Lagos State Police Command said it has commenced an investigation into a viral video of a jeweller accusing some policemen in the Festac area of the state of harassing him.  The command disclosed this in an X post on Saturday. The video, which circulated on X on Saturday morning, shows the businessman engaged in a struggle with some policemen. Later in the video, the businessman could be seen with a bloody face after allegedly sustaining a cut beside his right eye during the struggle with the police officers,  The jeweller later explained that the policemen from the Festac Division had stopped him for a routine search. SPAIN: FIRE KILLED ONE AND INJURED 18 PEOPLE TODAY AT A SPANISH CARE HOME.{PHOTOS}.

A fire at a Spanish care home killed an 89-year-old woman and injured 18 people, emergency services said on Wednesday.

The blaze began on the third floor at the Domusvi-Adorea home in Seville in southern Spain just before midnight on Tuesday, firefighters said.

“This was the intervention of the emergency services in the residence home in which an 89-year-old woman died and 18 people were hospitalised,” the Seville Emergency Services said in a tweet.

Neighbours brought blankets and offered refuge in their own homes to elderly residents who were forced to leave the building.

Many residents were taken by council workers to a sports centre to spend the night.

The cause of the fire was being investigated, emergency services said.
