 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Earlier today, while addressing members of Edo State Transition Committee and other stakeholders, I reiterated the need for political leaders at different levels to honour the social contract with the people.
The key message today is that there is a paradigm shift in Nigeria and Nigeria’s politics, as it was clearly demonstrated on September 19, 2020 in Edo State.
Politics is changing in Nigeria as the electorate have begun to vote rightly using the Edo election. We should all know that the 2023 election will not be business as usual.
We went through the 192 wards in the State and made promises to the people and they believed us; came out to vote for us, and we won. As a government, we don't have money to share, but money to work for Edo people. More photos below.
