 Again, Gov Diri Tasks Traditional Rulers To Maintain Peace, Security At King Awala's Coronation  Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has again urged traditional rulers to remain focused on the maintenance of peace, security and stability in their various domains as part of their contribution towards the development of the state. Governor Diri made the call at the weekend during the coronation ceremony ofHis Royal Majesty King Victor Awala, Ebeni-Ibe the Eighth (VIII) of Atissa Kingdom in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, at the Bishop Dimieari Grammar School, Yenagoa, the state capital. Represented by his deputy, Dr Peter Akpe, the Bayelsa Chief Executive acknowledged the critical role traditional rulers play in society as the custodians of culture and tradition, stressing that his administration will continue to hold them in high esteem. MAN ARRESTED FOR DEFILING HIS 15-YEAR OLD WIFE'S NIECE IN LAGOS.{PHOTO}.

The police operatives attached to Festac Division arrested 43-year-old Jonas Nnubia, pictured above, for defiling his wife's niece (name withheld) at 1st Avenue, L Close, Festac, Lagos State. 
 
The victim who was taken to the police station in the company of some officials of the Child Protection Network, Lagos State, alleged that the suspect has defiled her severally and warned her not to disclose his criminal act to anyone.
 
The victim has been taken to the hospital for necessary medical examination and attention in order to assist the police in carrying out their discreet Investigation into the matter. 
 
Confirming the incident to newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the state Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has directed that the suspects involved in the cases be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for proper investigation and possible prosecution.
