 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. PRINCE PHILIP WAS CLOSELY INVOLVED IN PLANNING OF HIS OWN FUNERAL.{PHOTOS}.

 

The Duke of Edinburgh was closely involved in the planning of his own Funeral. As a result, it will involve a number of unique touches which reflect his life and work.
Many of the moments choreographed by The Duke demonstrate his lifelong commitment to the Armed Forces.
◾️His Royal Highness’s coffin will be carried by both the Grenadier Guards and the Royal Marines during tomorrow’s ceremony.
◾️The Duke of Edinburgh’s two fell ponies - Balmoral Nevis and Notlaw Storm – will pull a carriage designed by The Duke of Edinburgh eight years ago.
◾️The Duke's insignia are the badges and medals which represent His Royal Highness’s status in a variety of countries and institutions. They include his Field Marshal's baton and Royal Air Force Wings, together with decorations from orders of chivalry in Denmark and Greece. The insignia will be laid at the altar in St George’s Chapel for the Funeral Service.
His Royal Highness helped design the Land Rover which will carry his coffin.
The vehicle will be driven by soldiers from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers of which The Duke was Colonel-in-Chief.More photos below.
