 Flu outbreak hits Air Force basic training in Texas after vaccine mandate lifted, with 159 cases reported among recruits    A flu outbreak is affecting Air Force basic training in San Antonio, Texas, with at least 159 confirmed cases and two hospitalizations reported among recruits as health officials respond to a cluster of infections at Joint Base San Antonio. The outbreak developed over the past several weeks and has prompted medical staff to isolate symptomatic trainees, treat cases, and monitor those who were in close contact with infected individuals. Officials said additional cases and hospitalizations are still being assessed. An Air Force spokesperson confirmed the situation, describing it as a localized influenza outbreak within the basic military training program. Governor Obiano Pledges Support To Anglican Communion as Awka Diocese Ends Second Session Of Twelveth Synod With Thanksgiving

Who is who in the Anglican Communion of Awka Diocese and beyond gathered today, Sunday 9th, 2021, at Saint Micheal and All Angels Church, Nawfia to mark the end of 2nd Session of the twelveth synod of Awka Diocese with a thanksgiving Service.
The Synod which commenced Last Friday had it's theme as "Expanding Our Ministerial Coast; Implications for the ordained and the laity.
The thanksgiving service was officiated by the Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, had in attendance host of clergymen from Awka Diocese and outside, including Bishops and their wives, Government Officials, wife of Archbishop Ibezim, Mrs Chioma and people from all walks of life.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Willie Obiano pledged support to the Anglican Communion and assured to sustain the already established age-long relationship between the church and the state government.
Represented by his Chief Protocol Officer, Mr Uzuegbuna Okagbue, Governor Obiano assured to reflect on the Archbishop Ibezim's Charge, especially issues stunting the growth of the state for the well-being of Ndi Anambra.
Speaking in a sermon, the guest preacher and Bishop of Lagos Diocese, Right Reverend Humphrey Olumakaiye, who emphasized on the theme of the synod charge the congregations to use their natural endowment to expands God's ministry.
He harped that the church has a vital role to play in the upliftment of the nation, adding that loopholes have continued to exit in all the national sectors.
Other attendees at the event, are the Former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, and a frontline Gubernatorial aspirant in the upcoming Anambra election, Professor Charles Soludo, the Senator Representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Lady Uche Ekwunife, including the oldest traditional ruler of Nnewi, Igwe Kenneth Orizu and others.More photos below.
