 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

GOV. FINTIRI JOINS GOV. OKOWA TO COMMISSION 220 BED HOSPITAL IN ASABA.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE

Adamawa State Governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has described as breathtaking the new Asaba Specialist Hospital.
Speaking at the Commissioning of the 220 bed Hospital on Tuesday, Governor Fintiri said the giant project equipped with State of the art facilities in the heart of the city will no doubt impact lives.
He noted that Governor Okowa is changing narratives and driving home healthcare reform.
Describing Governor Okowa as a visionary leader, Fintiri stated that the Delta State Governor is a leader with a vision for a greater Nigeria rekindling hope for the nation.
Expressing gratitude for inviting him over to commission the gigantic health facility which is a bolt attempt to boost healthcare delivery in the State, noted that will also reduce medical tourism.
He said "As a Doctor, Okowa knows better and if trusted with little resources given much will do more". He said.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri therefore reiterated the need for devolution of powers to allow States control their resources.
Regretting that Nigeria is at crossroads, he stressed the "Need for a rethink of our relationship with each other".
Earlier, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State had described Governor Fintiri as a bridge builder and an achiever who has brought development to Adamawa State within a short period and is obvious that he was the choice of Deltans to Commission the project.
Dr Okowa disclosed that the 220 bed hospital has special features, adding that the facility is in partnership with the private sector to ensure efficiency in the running of the hospital.
According to Governor Okowa, his Government is not leaving anything to chance towards addressing maternal mortality and other needs. He stressed that the hospital has an oxygen generating plant handy to assist COVID-19 cases and others in need of medical attention.
He said the facility which has commenced operations before its official opening has seen over 70 thousand Patients "A good number of them children and has done over 200 surgeries and boasts of Consultants in different fields.
The hospital seats on a an expanse of approximately four hectares, equipped with 11 inpatient wards, including the Male and Female Medical Wards, Male and Female Surgical Wards, Maternity Ward, and a Paediatric Ward.
Others include Neonatal Unit, Labour Ward, Intensive Care Unit, Childrens Emergency Room, Adult Emergency ward and high Dependency Unit.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was accompanied to Delta State for the Commissioning by Alhaji Awwal Mohammed Tukur a former Member of the National Assembly and Alhaji Abubakar Isa a businessman.
