Lagos police launch investigation as jeweller  accuses its officers of harassment The Lagos State Police Command said it has commenced an investigation into a viral video of a jeweller accusing some policemen in the Festac area of the state of harassing him.  The command disclosed this in an X post on Saturday. The video, which circulated on X on Saturday morning, shows the businessman engaged in a struggle with some policemen. Later in the video, the businessman could be seen with a bloody face after allegedly sustaining a cut beside his right eye during the struggle with the police officers,  The jeweller later explained that the policemen from the Festac Division had stopped him for a routine search. Governor Samuel Ortom, on behalf of his family, the Government and people of Benue State, congratulates the Tor Tiv, His Royal Majesty, Professor James Ayatse on his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari as Chancellor, University of Benin. 


The Governor describes the appointment as well deserved. He states that the wealth of experience of the Paramount Ruler of the Tiv nation as former Vice-Chancellor, University of Agriculture, Makurdi and Vice-Chancellor, Federal University, Dutsin-Ma in Katsina State, will immensely benefit the University of Benin. 


He appreciates President Buhari for the appointment of the Tor Tiv and expresses the hope that more Benue sons and daughters will be given key appointments at the federal level. 


Governor Ortom wishes His Royal Majesty, Professor Ayatse a successful tenure as the University Chancellor and prays God to bless him with good health and wisdom.
