CJN Bans Lawyers, Court Officials to Stop Using ‘Barrister’ as Official Title The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has directed lawyers, court officials and other legal personnel to discontinue the use of “Barrister” as a prefix to their names in all official engagements at the Supreme Court. The directive was contained in a memorandum dated July 13, 2026, and signed by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Kabir Akanbi. The circular, which was addressed to litigation staff, legal practitioners, court registrars and lawyers, stated that the directive took immediate effect and was aimed at upholding professional standards within the apex court. CIVIL UNREST IN PLATEAU STATE: STATE GOVT ISSUES 24HOURS CURFEW,CHURCHES,UNIJOS SUSPEND OPERATIONS.{PHOTO}.

Following the killings in the capital of Plateau state on Saturday, 14th August, 2021, the state government has issued a 24hours curfew to curtail the situation. 


According to reports, a couple was killed in the early hours of Sunday August 15, on their way from church. 


Residents, business owners and commuters have been warned to remain indoors while military personnel have been deployed in Rukuba road, Gada biu, polo round about, hill station roundabout and several other parts of the city.
