 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. COURT CONVICTS MAN FOR IMPERSONATIN NITDA OFFICIALS IN GOMBE.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE..

Justice J.Awak of the Gombe State High Court, Gombe on August 2, 2021 convicted and sentenced one Ahmed Mohammed Mu'azu to three months imprisonment on one-count charge of attempt to impersonate officials of National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).


The offence is contrary to Section 95 and Punishable under the same Section of Penal Code Law.


The defendant  sometime in 2019, under the guise of empowering the youths through a  Non-Governmental Organization, '' Youth Empowerment Capacity Building Organization of Nigeria'', Gombe branch promised unsuspecting members of the public training opportunities at NITDA, charging  N1,000 (One Thousand Naira) per participant.


Unfortunately, before he could execute his nefarious scheme, operatives of the Commission, arrested him in a sting operation facilitated through credible intelligence.

He pleaded guilty to the charge upon arraignment and was subsequently convicted and sentenced to three months imprisonment. The judge, however, gave him an option of fine of N10, 000.00 (Ten Thousand Naira).
