The Reiners were found dead from apparent knife wounds in their Brentwood home Sunday afternoon. Their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, was arrested later that night on suspicion of the killings. Michelle Obama described the Reiners as “some of the most decent, courageous people you ever want to know,” pushing back against President Trump’s comments labeling Rob Reiner “deranged” and “tortured and struggling.” She emphasized the couple’s dedication to family, fairness, and equity.
