First Woman To Lead Awka Chamber Of Commerce, Industry, Mines And Agriculture Takes Over Mantle of Leadership.

The first woman to become the President of the Awka Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture has now taken over the mantle of leadership of the Chamber at an investiture ceremony of the Association held in Awka.
Princess Caroline Ajuora who was invested as the eleventh president of the City chamber today, is also the first woman to hold the position in the South East region of Nigeria.
Princess Ajuorah will lead a twenty-eight member enlarged executive to man the Chamber for the next two years.
Awka Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture is one of the City chambers in Anambra State under the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture with the principal objective of creating a conducive atmosphere for the pursuit of commerce, industry, and all other forms of economic activities of interest to the private sector.
Speaking at the event, Governor Willie Obiano represented by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr Nnamdi Onukwuba explained that the Anambra State Government under his leadership will continue to make policies and reduce bureaucracies to make sure that businesses in the State benefit from the opportunities of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
In her acceptance speech, Princess Ajuora said she will drive support for female led businesses and start ups and small and medium scale entreprises to survive while encouraging good government policies that will create the necessary enabling environment.
Earlier in his last address as the outgoing President of the Chamber, Pastor Stephen Ndaguba said he was elated that a woman would be taking over from him and also pointed out that the soon to be completed Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri being built by the State Government will greatly impact positively on the businesses in Anambra and to members of the Chamber especially.
Present at the investiture ceremony is the National President, Chief J. C Udeagbala represented by the President, South East Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Mr Humphrey Ngonadi, the First Female National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, NACCIMA, Chief Mrs Oluwaseun Lawson, and Anambra State Head of Service, Barrister Harry Uduh.
