 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. We stand as a representation of all the people, who have most profoundly shaped our values, influenced our lives, allowed us to benefit from the vast repository of their understanding, and blessed our sense of service in divers ways.I stand with the wisdom of my late Father, my living Mother, my siblings, my dear wife, and precious family.

I stand supported by the counsel of my spiritual Father and many mentors.

I stand with the support of the great fold that was birthed more than 25 years ago in my Mother’s living room, which has grown in to so many different expressions today.

Most of all, I stand in the strength and the ability of our Lord and Master Jesus Christ who is Himself, the Most Influential Personality in Heaven, on the Earth and beneath the Earth.
