No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

The Lagos State Government has presented cheques of N20 Million (N10 Million each) to two families of Rapid Responses Squad (RRS) officers, SPY/PC Job Omale and SPY/PC Adekunle Adeniran, who died in active service, in line with Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s pledge to always give all necessary support to security agencies in the State.

Admonishing the beneficiaries to judiciously utilise the money in a way that will gladden the heart of the deceased, Soyannwo reassured the families and residents of the State government's determination to always work for the good and wellbeing of the masses.

In his words: “The gesture is in line with the Governor's policy of ensuring the welfare of security personnel as well as boosting their morale towards the effective performance of their duties in protecting the lives and property of citizens in the State, which is in tandem with the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda on Security and Good Governance”.

In his remarks, the Director of Special Services, Office of Chief of Staff, Mr. Morakinyo Akinrinade, expressed the commitment of the present administration to consistently compensate the next- of-kin of Police Officers that passed away while on active service in the State.
