 Troops Rescue 10 Kidnap Victims, Recover Weapons, Cash In Kaduna Troops of Sector 5 under Operation Peace Shield have rescued 10 kidnapped victims and recovered arms, ammunition and ransom money in a successful operation in Kaduna State. The rescue followed the abduction of several women from their farms in Ungwan Nungu, Sanga Local Government Area, on 29 November 2025. Security forces launched an immediate search-and-rescue mission to track the kidnappers. According to military authorities, the breakthrough came at about 6:40 a.m. on 5 December 2025, when troops intercepted the kidnappers during an attempted ransom collection. The armed group reportedly came under heavy fire, forcing them to flee into the surrounding forest and abandon the hostages. NIGERIAN GOVT TO SPEND N900BN ON FUEL SUBSIDY IN 2022 DESPITE PETROLEUM INDUSTRY ACT.{PHOTO}.

Nigeria’s federal government says it is making provision for the controversial fuel subsidy as part of its expenditure in the 2022 budget.


This is according to the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari.


This is even as President Muhammadu Buhari has signed Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), with the government planning to deregulate the downstream sector.


The federal government is projecting N900 billion for fuel subsidy for 2022.


Mr Kyari spoke on Thursday at MTEF/FSP hearing organised by the Senate Committee on Finance in Abuja.
