 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. GOV. UZODIMMA CONTINUES TO SCORE HIGH ON HEALTH SECTOR .{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

Barely two years in office, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has shown commitment at ensuring that the Health sector of Imo State for which he met in comatose receives urgent attention.


Apart from fighting headlong the dreaded Covid19 Pandemic with the provision of Isolation Centers with state-of-the-art medical facilities and equipment & Mobile Clinic was also made available by the Shared Prosperity to ensure that Imolites get quality health care services effortlessly.


Consequently, the Health sector of Imo State has greatly improved under Gov. Hope Uzodimma, if not for anything, the Covid19 Pandemic exposed how prepared the health sector under Gov. Hope Uzodimma is.


In the last one year, Imo however has recorded breakthroughs in Eradication of Polio, measles and other infectious diseases.


The progress of Imo State health sector is significant despite the economic challenges occasioned by the dreaded Covid-19 Pandemic, there is now a boost in the health sector as primary Health care outlets are across the 27 LGA, operating 24/7.


The glaring Health challenges such as maternal mortality, infant mortality, road accident injuries, diarrhea, meningitis and tuberculosis are all under control as the State Government Mobile Clinics hoves around meeting the provisions of health quality services at no cost. 


No doubt the visionary leadership of Gov. Hope Uzodimma has bolstered the fortunes of Imo State health sector.
