 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Former Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu has explained his reasons for visiting former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, saying, he went to receive his blessings.

Tinubu stated this after a closed-door meeting with the elder statesman in his Hilltop country home in Minna, Niger State.

He stated, “if you restrict my visit to this house that is it. Generally, I came to Niger State to commiserate with the Governor and the people of Niger State. And so, I can’t stop by without paying a courtesy call to the enigma General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, Retired”.

On whether he got his blessings, the presidential candidate replied, ” he gave me his prayers. You want to know the outcome of the consultation? We are running a democracy”.

Speaking on his ambition, he stated,” I took my decision voluntarily and I am running for the Presidency of the country, we are running a democracy, thank you very much and God bless you”.
