 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State. OGUN DETERMINED TO MAKE PHC BACKBONE OF ITS HEALTH SECTOR- COKER


Primary Health Care as the first point of contact for individuals, the family and the community remained the backbone of the Ogun State health sector, hence its determination to further invest in human and material resources for better service delivery, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker has said.

Dr. Coker stated this in Abeokuta during a meeting with Medical Officers of Health (MoH) in Primary Health Centres across the 20 Local Government Areas of the State, noting that qualitative & affordable health care was one of the pillars of the present administration's ‘Building our Future Together’ agenda.

She reiterated that the government would continue to finance the sector to improve the wellness of the residents, adding that it had renovated health facilities across the State for people to access care irrespective of their locations.

The Commissioner while appreciating the officers for discharging their duties efficiently, charged them to always adhere to the ethics of the medical profession.

“There is a need for us to ensure that residents have access to health security as provided through the Basic Health Care Provisions Fund (BHCPF). So, I want to enjoin you to support the government's drive towards rewriting the history of healthcare delivery in the State”, she said.

In his contribution, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr. Tayo Lawal said the concerted efforts of government at the Federal and State levels had brought about various interventions projects & programmes that would have a direct impact on the lives of residents such as the BHCPF.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Executive Secretary, Primary Health Care Development Board, Dr. Elijah Ogunsola said the meeting was to intimate participants on the update of the COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, review performance of Primary Health Centres in the past years, as well as brainstorm on how to deliver on the present administration's agenda in the health sector.

Responding on behalf of other MoH, Dr. Adekunle Solarin assured of their commitment to further improve on services rendered to the people.
