 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. THE DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE HELD AN INVESTITURE AND THERE WERE SOME SPORTING GREATS AMONGST THE RECIPIENTS.{PHOTOS}.

Today The Duke of Cambridge held an Investiture and there were some sporting greats amongst the recipients.


Former rugby league footballer Kevin Sinfield received an OBE in recognition of his incredible fundraising for Motor Neurone Disease Association in honour of his friend and team mate Rob Burrow.


Sir Clive Lloyd, one of the most successful Test captains, was awarded a Knighthood for services to cricket. Sir Clive has played for, captained and managed the West Indies Cricket team. 


England Cricket ODI and Middlesex County Cricket Club T20  Captain Eoin Morgan received a CBE for services to cricket.


Reigning World Women's Snooker Champion, Reanne Evans was awarded an MBE.


Former jockey Ron Atkins was awarded an MBE. Ron played a key role campaigning for jockey safety. 


Finally, fitness guru Derrick Evans, aka Mr Motivator, received an MBE for services to Health & Fitness.
