 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Anambra Police Nab Man Who Allegedly Murdered His Girlfriend



Police in Anambra have arrested Ikenna Asiegbu, who allegedly killed his 22 year-old girlfriend in Mgbakwu, Awka North Local government area of Anambra State.

Mrs Ngozi Nwude, who witnessed the crime told neighbours that the man had a violent relationship with the girl. 

According to her, the victim “has been living with the suspect. She is a native of Enugwu - Agidi in Njikoka LGA of the state, but her mother is from Mgbakwu. The boy has the habit of beating her in the past”. 

Other witnesses said that the suspect, Ikenna Asiegbu was allegedly beating the girl when she collapsed and was taken to the hospital where doctors confirmed her dead.

Angry youths in Mgbakwu upon seeing the corpse, descended on the suspect, and beat him to stupor. They tried to set him ablaze before Vigilante operatives arrived and took to their office and contacted the police. 

Anambra police command PRO, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga said:
“The suspect Mr Ikenna Asiegbu, who allegedly murdered 22 year- old Miss Chidimma Christopher at Urutolu village, Mgbakwu has been apprehended and is now in Police Custody.

“We received information that the suspect beat up and murdered the victim in his house at Mgbakwu. The victim was rescued and rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty.
“Meanwhile, the case has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation. Further development shall be communicated please”.
